A blend of 53% Hemp, 42% Bamboo Viscose and 5% Lycra, this black jersey fabric is great for making eco-friendly clothing with a slight stretch to it
To produce this wonderful bamboo viscose material, the bamboo is extruded to create a product similar to rayon. Although this is a chemical process, making it a man-made fabric, bamboo viscose is still a great environmentally conscious choice.
It’s also made from 53% organic hemp, which demands less water than alternative natural materials (like cotton), and requires absolutely no pesticide, herbicide or chemical fertiliser in its production and is 100% biodegradable. It’s also a natural carbon sink, meaning that it is brilliant at capturing CO2 from the atmosphere and trapping it, and is able to grow in soil where other crops can’t, whilst leaving the earth better and more fertile than the day it was planted!
